Chocolate-Chip Strawberry Cake

By Ali Rose

Here's a quick and easy dessert that my family found delicious!
Made easier by using a box cake mix.

The ingredients you need:

I used a Pillsbury Strawberry cake mix, but you can choose whatever brand you'd like.
Mix the cake according to package directions using oils, eggs, and water as directed.
After the cake mix is thoroughly mixed, I added about 6 ounces of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Grease and flour your pan--I used a bundt pan.

That's what cake mix looks like in a bundt pan lol.

Bake according to package directions.
Once cake is done, I checked mine with a wooden skewer to make sure center was done, allow to rest in pan for approx. 5 minutes.
Remove from pan and place on a cloth covered cooling rack.

While the cake is cooling--and this is the important part--you want to make the fudge frosting.

In pot on stove burner, melt one stick of butter or margarine.
Add three to four tablespoons of cocoa.
Six tablespoons of milk.
After all is melted together, add one box of powdered sugar.
Stir together or place in mixer bowl and stir together so the sugar is fully incorporated.
*option: one teaspoon of vanilla, but I didn't use it.

Pour the hot frosting over the cake--yummy!  Sprinkle with powdered sugar for a nice effect.

This will be your finished product--hopefully:

Pour yourself a cold glass of milk and enjoy!
